Wahooo!

I took Monday and Tuesday off of work this week.  I can't think of a better way to wrap up a weekend :)  Travis and I were in Des Moines for his Christmas party on Saturday.  My wonderful friend Kim came over to play with Mowgli.  Mowgli loves Kim, so he was excited to see us go :)  It worked out pretty nice because I wanted to stay in Des Moines to hang out with my Mom and finish up Christmas shopping.  So I sent Travis back home with our friends Brent and Mindy.

Besides shopping, we did a lot of cooking and baking holiday treats.  And YES, we did NEED them :)  I've never had a problem with making cookies, it's the baking I sometimes don't ever get around to.

Do you love that AWESOME magnet in the background on the fridge?  The one with my brother and my school pictures in a homemade frame that I made using those tiny plastic cylinders that you melt together with an iron.  Do you remember them?!?
Travis loves my mom's caramel-corn.  Too bad I ate most of it today on the couch :)

For whoever knows us.  Travis has a pretty nice vehicle and mine is... decent but nothing too special.  We took Trav's car to Des Moines so after he went back with our friends he got to drive my car for a couple days.  I asked him how he liked it... I had never heard so many complaints about a car.  "It's slow" "It takes forever for the heat to come on"  "it groans and makes weird noises".  Sheesh, it WAS made in 1999.  Can you believe that was (almost) 10 years ago?

So it's Tuesday and I'm lounging around with puppy watching some TV.  It's funny because he definitely doesn't like certain things that come on TV.  We watch a lot of dog whisperer (aka equivalent crazy cat lady) and when the dogs bark, he growls or "huffs" at them.  Travis told me that he watched Robin Hood while I was gone and it sounds like Mowgli did not approve.  And today there was a commercial to quit smoking.  Mowgli did his little "huff" thing whenever someone was smoking.  It was funny.

Tomorrow is a new day, and a new work day.  I am looking forward to some more yummy holiday snacks that get delivered to the office during Christmas time!  One week to go!
