Thoughts from a stay-at-home WIFE

As I mentioned in a previous post, I didn't take a real vacation this year.  So I had some left over vacation time that needed to be used up before Jan 1st.  I didn't HAVE to do anything, which was really nice.  I ended up watching far too much tv, but I did do, or at least start a few things around the house.  I vacuumed the upstairs (long overdue) and cleaned out a closet.  I even went to Wal-Mart and purchased a plastic tub for some childhood memorabilia to go into the basement.  Travis thinks I'm a clutter-bug.  He should have known me in high school!

Being at home all day was... interesting.  The days actually passed by pretty fast.  I thought I would get a lot more done than I actually did, but the days went by quickly.  I've had a hard time sleeping in this past year.  My body would wake me up anywhere between 6 and 7am, even on the weekends.  I actually got into a nice sleeping pattern where I would wake up around 8:30 while I was off.

Did you make a New Year's resolution?  I've never really done that, but I have thought about a lot of things I want to do in this next year... Spend more time in my Bible, Try new recipes, Get rid of the tummy pooch, Go on a vacation, Train Mowgli to CONSISTENTLY come when called, Get my photos all organized!

I did get to hang out with a lot of friends while I was off work.  Thank goodness for good friends to give me some human interaction until Travis got home!  I do think Mowgli was pleased I was spending soo much time with him.  Our walks have been a bit trickier with all the ice.  My thighs and shins have been very sore the past few days from my awkward way of walking so I don't slip.  Poor puppy got way too many jerks on his leash from my almost-falls.  It's January and I'm already thinking about warm weather. I think this week I've said to myself 10 times, "when it get's nice out..." Yeah right, I have a long time before that happens.

Good news!  With my new camera (and a better understanding for my settings) I was able to actually capture Mowgli's trick.  The trick is kinda old news by now, and he's a pro at it, BUT, I was so pleased when I got these photos!

I enjoyed my time as a stay-at-home-wife.  It probably won't be my next occupation, but it was a nice escape from work for awhile.

Glad you had a good time on your days off. It is amazing how fast days can fly by. I'm amazed that you captured mowgli's trick! If you figure out how to get him to consistently listen, you can share the secret with our dog...
