The Flood
Last year at this time, this is what our town looked like. Our office ended up closing, but only hours after there was a mandatory evacuation for downtown. All of the bridges were closed to get to our offices from our side of town. So a 8 minute drive to work turned in to about a 45 min drive. We had to go clear around town to find the one entrance into the downtown. Since it was the only way to get where we were going, EVERYONE was going that way. We did end up getting a day and 1/2 off work which was nice.
Obviously a lot of people were affected by the floods. We were very fortunate that neither our home or workplace was flooded. In the past week or so, I've been seeing a lot on TV about what everything looked like last year, and how things look now. On my way to work, I can still see an old railroad bridge sitting in the middle of the river. I meant to take a picture of that... but never did. oops :)
